Folios 339-340: John Sykes, HMS Hecla, Dungeness. Reply to letter dated 26 January 1804, he states that the only Officer he had for Duty on 18 January 1804 was the Gunner, and sent in charge of the Boat, to bring off the Purser with fresh beef, the Lieutenant having been on the Sick List for a month, and the no Master appointed.
