Description

Folios 256-257: Christopher Strachey, HMS Jalouse, Malta. Reply to letter dated 23 September 1803 requesting he state the case on the account of fresh provisions received on board HMS Jalouse when off Mayale. He states that he received on board two thousand four hundred and sixteen gallons of fresh beer at sixpence per gallon, and that the vouchers were sent to the Victualling Office in London last November [1803]. He states that Mr James Davie, Purser of HMS Jalouse has, during the time under his command, been strictly and honourably attentive in his conduct.
