Folios 229-230: John Stiles, HMS Alcmene, off St Malo. States having been a Lieutenant short of Complement near two months in consequence of Lieutenant Charles Tyler being appointed to HMS Hydra. He request a Lieutenant be appointed and he would be grateful if he were Junior to Lieutenant William Andrews.
