Description

Folios 65-66: Thomas Sotheby, Sea Fencibles, Bristol. States that on 28 September 1804 he sent a letter about James Blinman who was improperly impressed out of the Consolation Pilot Boat, James Gilmore Pilot Master to which he has not had an answer. He encloses a letter from the Pilot and a Petition from the Branch Pilots.

Folios 67-68: enclosure with folios 65-66. Letter dated 15 October 1804 by James Gilmore, Pile, to Thomas Sotheby, Sea Fencibles, Bristol. Letter about the Impressment of James Blinman from the Pilot Boat Consolation on about 10 September 1804. Also the problems to the Bristol Trade if men are impressed from the Pilot Boats.

Folio 69: enclosure with folios 65-66. Petition from the Branch Pilots of Pill, Bristol. [Signed by 32 men about the Impress service and protections for men of the area].
