Folios 48-49: Thomas Sotheby, Sea Fencibles, Bristol. Reports that Mr James who has one of the Merchants Dock Yards in this City has written saying that 40 of his men with himself are willing to enrol as a Company of Sea Fencibles to learn their Pike Exercise and be attached in case of emergency to those already enrolled. Request permission an order to supply them with Pikes.
