Folios 29: Philip Somerville, HMS Nemesis, Torbay. States the Detachment of Royal marines & Working Party of Seamen to the number of 70 in the whole belonging to HMS Nemesis having materially benefited the Public by their exertion in collecting the scattered remains of HMS Venerable in the performance of which in addition to what they have suffered in fatigue, worn out their shoes upon the Rocks and Beach. May hope that their Lordships will take their Case into Consideration, and authorise him to supply them with a pair of shoes each. He also proposes to their Lordships the granting them half an allowance of Grog when their days Work is finished, their present allowance being Beer.
