Folio 24: Philip Somerville, HMS Nemesis, Torbay. Reply to letter dated 27 August 1804 and state the case of John Long said to be the Carpenter's Mate of the Recovery employed in the South Sea Fishery, he was impressed on 10 June 1804 by Officers of HMS Nemesis. He was found secreted with seven others in the hold of that ship, impressed as he had no Documents of any kind to protect him nor did he appear to him by the Articles of the Ship that he was in any other capacity than that of a Seaman. He has since done his duty in the Main Top of HMS Nemesis.
