Description

Folios 282-283: John Simpson, HMS Tourterelle, Greenock. As instructed he has discharged Thomas Paton and Robert Hendry. 21 supernumeries are on board the Mary tender bound for Plymouth.

Folios 284-285: enclosed with folios 282-283. Petition of James Dickson presented to Colonel John Campbell, the Bute Volunteers, regarding Thomas Paton and Robert Hendry who have been impressed. Postscript of John MacKirdy, Messenger, the High Court of Scotland, Edinburgh, requiring John Simpson to explain the impressment of Thomas Paton and Robert Hendry and forbidding him from taking the two men out of the jurisdiction of the High Court.
