Folios 243-244: John Simpson, HMS Tourterelle, Greenock. His Surgeon has asked that 2 medical men are enlisted to assess the condition of lieutenant Robert Read. John Simpson says that unless he is speedily removed to a healthier climate his condition will deteriorate.
Folio 245: enclosed with folios 243-244. Letter dated 3 February 1804 by James Brownes, Surgeon, HMS Tourterelle. He says that the life of Lieutenant Read is in danger if he stays in a northern climate.
