Folio 168: John Seater, HMS Leyden, Swin. In reply to directions from Rear Admiral Rowley states that William Sutter was impressed by Lieutenant Sandy on 21 October [1803] out of a collier brig. He claimed to be 49 years old, has been at sea 30 years, born at Chatham, married at North Shields. he had no Protection.
Folios 169-170: enclosure with folio 168. Letter dated 3 March 1804 from Manny Sutter, North Shields, to Lords Even Napean, London. Her husband William Sutter is now on board HMS Leyden. He is a sick man. She has 6 children and a mother to support and is in such a bad state of health that she cannot work to support them. If she cannot find relief soon she will be obliged to go to the poor house.
