Folios 144-145: John Simpson, HMS Tourterelle, Greenock. Reports that John Simpson, who is said to be an American, was impressed between Greenock and Port Glasgow by the Gang under Regulating Captain Sandford Tatham. He has no document to prove he is American, but on the contrary he is keen to volunteer for the Tourterelle. Simpson was sent to Admiral Sir John Colpoys on 20 November. Encloses [not present] a weekly account.
