Letter dated at St James's from Lord Rochford notifying him that Lieutenant-Colonel James Abercrombie 22nd Foot has gone, with the King's permission, to join General Gage and also that the King has given permission for Ensign Ackland [John Dyke Acland] 33rd Foot to purchase a company in that regiment 'at a proper time, if recommended by his colonel Lord Cornwallis'.
