Folios 239-240: William Sidney Smith. London. In response to the Admiralty's letter, gives an account of the 10 cannon which were loaded aboard HMS Tigre for Constantinople. They were light 3-pounders on field carriages, originally intended for the Emperor of Morocco as a reward for his hospitality of the crew of the shipwrecked HMS Courageux. They were instead sent to Egypt, and replacements were supposed to be sent to Morocco, but he now learns this has never been done, despite a promise by the British Consul at Tangier.
Folio 241: enclosed with folios 239-240 Memorandum, unsigned and undated, giving a detailed account of the 10 guns carried to Constantinople in HMS Tigre, one left at Topkana and the others distributed by Commodore Sir William Sidney Smith at various battles including the siege of Acre, Aboukir, Damietta, Latigua and Elhancha.
