Folios 188-189: enclosure with folios 186-187. Letter dated 9 August 1802 from Thomas Rivan, HMS Determinée, to Captain Alexander Skene. Encloses [not present] his certificates and reports he passed the examination for Lieutenant on 4 August. In the first instance, seeks an appointment as a Midshipman.
