Active Travel England (ATE) is an executive agency sponsored by the Department for Transport (DfT). The goal of ATE is to achieve an increase in active travel in England, which entails journeys that are walked, wheeled and cycled, by 2030. ATE fulfils this goal by investing in and improving standards for active travel, supporting integration of active travel in local planning and development, supporting inclusivity and accessibility in active travel and helping councils access data to support their active travel planning.
