Folios 234-235: William Selby, HMS La Mondovi, Plymouth. He was ordered by Lord Bridport, to sail to sail for Torbay. On the 15 August 1799, very severe gales meant the ship nearly foundered and was making four feet of water an hour. She could not carry any sail and was nearly blown ashore in France so he threw his guns overboard and got away when the storm abated.

Folios 238-239: enclosure with folios 234-235. Orders from Lord Bridpoprt Admiral of the White to William Selby, 11 August 1799. Orders to deliver a packet to Captain Cunningham on HMS Clyde.
