Description

Folios 173-174: Alexander Schomberg, HMS Rambler, Spithead. Is sending copies of the convoy list, orders and letter for Vice Admiral Waldegrave. He had no guns so he did not think it worthwhile to pursue the convoy to Portugal.

Folio 175: enclosure with folios 173-174. Alexander Schomberg, HMS Rambler. List of defects.

Folio 176: enclosure with folios 173-174. Orders dated 22 October 1799 by Admiral Waldegrave, Newfoundland, to Alexander Schomberg. Orders to take the convoy to Portugal.

Folio 177: enclosure with folios 173-174. List of 13 ships with Owners and Masters all carrying fish to Portugal.

Folios 179-180: enclosure with folios 173-174. Orders dated 22 October 1799 by William Waldegrave, HMS Agincourt, to Alexander Schomberg to take the convoy to Portugal mentioning Captain Graves and HMS Castor
