Folios 133-134: George Sayles, HMS Xenophon, Ems River. He left Hosely Bay with the convoy on 20 June 1799 and on 26 June the Ems vessels were detached. Lieutenant Elliot informed him that five Dutch had attempted capture on of his convoy. He tried to get back to protect them but the wind was wrong so he took his valuable convoy to the Elbe and Weser on 29 June 1799. A strong wond delayed his departure with the Embden trade. There were several Dutch and French vessels there but they departed for Delfyzel when he appeared. HMS [Vessuve] sails with the convoy for the Nore.
