Folios 463-464: William Sidney Smith, London. States that Lieutenant Canes having represented to him that it would accelerate the fitting of HMS Tigre if he had the party of Royal marines on board to be employed on working parties in the Dock Yard taking out stores etc. He would also represent that a certain portion of seamen and rated petty officers may be sent on board in order that the rigging may be completed as soon as possible.
