Folios 457-458: William Sidney Smith, Conduit Street. He is informed that a notification has been sent to him of his appointment to the Command of HMS Tigre and that his Commission was sent to Portsmouth the day after he left that place. Having inspected the ship before her coming out of dock and enabled himself to give the necessary directions to commanding Officer to proceed in fitting her now that he is authorised so to do. Requests a fortnights annual leave.
