Folios 455-456: Sir William Sidney Smith, [His Agents], Christopher Cooke, Cooke & Halford, [7] Beaufort Buildings, [Strand]. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] Affidavit from Sir William Sidney Smith Retired. Stating that he was captured by the French on 18 April 1796 being the Captain of HMS Diamond, and that he arrived in England on 5 May 1798. He request an order for him to be paid for this time.
