Vitch who to his knowledge has been ill-used as for ut to be improper for him to be in the interests of the enemy, on the contrary he has a rooted aversion to them and their system and wishes nothing so much as to do them any disservice in this power. He reckons the Venetian Islands lately ceded to France as vulnerable. [Mentions arming the island]. PS Count V Having quitted the Venetian navy ten years ago is unable to give him any information respecting the Venetian navy which will requires to say in general that they are flat bottomed consequently leewardly ship & shore which are coppered have still their iron bolts & as the Venetian builders use a bolt where we use a trensil they must be leaky and rickety.
