Folios 371-372: William Skipsey, HMS Pheasant, Portsmouth. States that he had informed them that Lieutenant Clerk [Charles Clerke?] who had joined HMS Pheasant on 15 August 1798 was reported to him by the Surgeon not to be in a sane state of mind so he was sent to Sick Quarters on 18 August 1798 by the permission of Admiral Sir Peter Parker [(1st Baronet of Bassingbourn)]. So went to Sea one Lieutenant short.
