Folios 359-360: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Reports that having sent the Tender away on Sunday he went to Norman Cross as directed to regulate any volunteers but on his arrival found no one willing to enter. the several that had promised at Lynn [Kings Lynn] had given their names to Captain Daniel Woodriff as volunteers and requested that they might not be sent back to prison fearing their comrades indignation, but Captain Daniel Woodriff thought it necessary to remand them back to prison, the nest morning on his arrival the Clerk was sent to muster them out, when only one did. He puts this reduction down to threats of the Frenchmen that are mixed with the Dutch prisoners. He request that had the men entered with Lieutenant William Dalton at Lynn [Kings Lynn] upon the same terms as the other neutrals been kept separate from other prisoners they would have joined. [suggests slight changes to how volunteers from the prison are reported].
