Folios 341-342: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Wells [Wells-next-the-Sea]. States that having enquired into the circumstances relating to the impressment of James Hart the Greenland man mentioned in Mr Hogg's letter. He finds that he frequently papers the Rendezvous with pistols in his bosom and when taken had several pistol balls in his pocket, his Mother at the time lamenting he had not his fire arms about him when laid hold of, as he would not then have allowed himself to be impressed. He was also when at the Rendezvous very insolent and struck one of the Gang.
