Description

Folios 336-337: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Covering letter for the enclosed [not present] weekly return also a monthly return [not present] of Wells [Wells-next-the-Sea]. He reminds that the two ships Company of the Greenland men came onshore at this place armed with their cutting knives etc. James Hart had one of the new Protections dated 6 September 1798. He has also impressed a young man belonging to a Collier but was on shore having a sufficient number of men and the tides answering he means to send the Tender away on Wednesday. He requests direction.

Folio 338: enclosure with folios 336-337. Letter dated 13 September 1798 by John Seymor's [John Seymour], Regulating Office, Wells [Wells-next-the-Sea] to Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Statement on the impressment of James Hart.
