Folios 329-330: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer], Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Reply to letter dated 14 July 1798he informs that John Cave was impressed by Lieutenant William Dalton on 7 July 1798 and he was detained in consequence of his belonging to a vessel who's chief employ was on the Corn Trade between this & Bristol and sometimes bringing a load of Welsh Coals, he having been in her three voyages. He encloses a Certificate of the Surgeon who examined his health, and state that he is slightly deaf. He awaits their answer.
Folio 331: enclosure with folios 329-330. Thomas Upward, Surgeon, Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Certificate dated 8 July 1798 that John Cave is fit and able to serve.
