Folio 258: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer] Lynn [Kings Lynn]. States that John Fox who he impressed on 31 January 1798 belongs to HMS Monmouth, he informed him that he had five days leave of absence, he has stayed a considerable time beyond his leave. John Emmerson who he impressed on the 2 February 1798 upon minute examination by our Surgeon for the Sick & Hurt here, proved him to be unserviceable. If you think proper that he should send you a list of his Midshipman & Gangmen from the present time he will do so, otherwise he will send one when his monthly accounts are made out to the 4 March 1798.
