Folios 256-257: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer] Lynn [Kings Lynn]. Impressed with the general idea of the Subscriptions which have gone forward in His Majesty's Navy. He thought it proper to lend an example to the Officers and gang under his Command, and most readily come forward with the undermentioned subscriptions, which he have done himself the honour of enclosing to you begging you will have the goodness to dispose of it with the rest of the subscriptions from His Majesty's Navy. [List:-] Captain Joseph Short £10-10s-d, Lieutenant William Dalton £5-5s-od, 2 Midshipman (1 months pay) £3-7s-6d and 10 Gangsmen (£1 each) £10-0s-0d. Total £29-2s-6d.
