Folios 239-240: Joseph Short, [Regulating Officer] Lynn [Kings Lynn]. States that he sending of men from Wells by one or two at a time as they procure them, weakening his gang by being obliged to have additional centinels [centennials] at the Rendezvous. He wrote to Lieutenant Thomas Chambers pointing it out, and also the additional travelling expenses of his Midshipmen and Men, and requested he would not send any more until he heard from him, and that he would take care to let him know in time for his men to be here before the tenders sailing, he not being under his direction has not chosen to comply with his request. Requests he be given orders to this effect he having the advantage of the John and Mary Tender laying at Wells [Wells-next-the-Sea].
