Folios 223-224: George James Shirley, Beaufort Building. Reply to letter dated 7 September 1798 informing him that he had not answered their question about the Blankets made use of for the wounded on HMS Mars at the time of her action with L'Hercule [Captain Louis L'Heritier, 21st April 1798]. In reply to which he inform of the Surgeons letter to him respecting the Blankets as well as the beds lead him to order them being thrown overboard.
