Folios 205-206: William Shield, HMS Unite, Nore. States that Mr James H Hammerton, Gunner of HMS Unite having on the evening of the 28 October 1798 behaved himself in a Mutinous Contemptuous and Disrespectful Manner to Mr Daniel Peters the Master, then Officer of the Watch, by going on the Quarter-deck and snapping his fingers at or to him and at the same time telling him he did not car a Convoy for or about him; and having been guilty of Drunkenness he request he be Court Martial'd.
