Folios 327-328: Robert Stopford, HMS Phaeton, Falmouth. He explains why he has removed the licence from the Master of the Mercury sloop. On investigation he found that the licence issued to the Mercury did not allow it to act as a Pilot boat. As one ship had already been run aground he felt that it was necessary to act. He will join up with Charles Stirling, HMS Jason, and the fleet he is escorting once the wind permits.
