Folios 310-311: Charles Stirling, HMS Jason, Torbay. He writes on behalf of John England, Gunner, who he says was unjustly put on shore by the crew and is now aboard HMS Druis. John England has been in the navy since his youth and has twice sailed around the world. Charles Stirling writes of his record of good behaviour and his fine character. He asks the Admiralty to promote him when the opportunity arises.
