Folios 173-174: Richard John Strachan, HMS Melampus, off St Marcou [Marcouf]. Reports his arrival. Yesterday afternoon on his way from Portsmouth he met HMS Aquilon and delivered their orders to her Commander. When he arrived he found HMS Diamond, HMS Minerva, HMS Syren, HMS Camilla and HMS Magicienne there and HMS Conquest and HMS Force armed gun vessels. As some of the ships are short of provisions he has ordered HMS Magicienne to supply what she can spare. Today she sails to Spithead. Describes his plans for the following day.
