Folios 196-197: William Sydney Smith, HMS Diamond, off St Marion. Lieutenant Watson, Commander of the gun vesel Shark was not aboard when she was cut from her anchor on the 15 December 1795 as he had been landed to work the batteries so therefore no blame can be attached to him for losing the ship. He should return to HMS Syren from whence he came. The remainder of the cannonade crew were attached to HMS Badger under Lieutenant Price.
