He reports that during the night of August 14, John Thompson, Master's Mate, stole the Jolly boat and deserted together with 2 other men. These men were: Hans Nelson, alias James Mahoney who is an Irishman, but claims to be Norwegian and Peter Anderson who is a native of Shetland.
