Folios 216-217: Thomas Sotheby, HMS Daphne, Spithead. He reports his activities in convoying merchants ships to Plymouth and to the Downs. He has also on the orders of Vice Admiral Peyton been engaged in searching for French cruisers. He was also engaged with HMS Brilliant and Trial in protecting the coast around Nieuport.
