Folios 209-210: Wilson Rathborne, North Shields. Replying to Mr Barrow's query of 20 February about George Hackford, aboard the Eliza tender, and returning the enclosure and the man's protection. Hackford was impressed by Lieut. France, Newcastle, being found ashore, not on ship's duty. He had offered a guinea to each of the midshipmen to let him go. He is 38 and has been at sea for 22 years, an active and healthy man.
Folios 211-213: enclosure with folios 209-210: Letter dated 19 February 1812 by [signature indecipherable], Hill Street, saying George Hackford was Mate of the brig Martin, Captain Landsdown, belonging to the port of Boston, and asking for his discharge.
Folio 213: enclosure with folios 209-210. Affidavit dated 1 January 1812 from William Landsdown, Master of the Martin, saying that Hackford is mate of the ship and is required to go ashore on ship's business frequently.
