Folios 97-98: John Sprat Rainier, 21 Nottingham Place. Sending on an application from a shipbuilder at Sandwich, who has been contracted to work for the Service in the past and would like to do so again.
Folios 99-100: enclosure with folios 97-98. Letter dated 17 January 1812 byThomas Hills, shipbuilder, Sandwich. His agent has applied to the Navy Office for further contracts but without success and is hoping Captain Rainier might have some interest with the Admiralty and that they would be able to influence the decision. Adds he hopes that 'all our interest is not lost from the old antient towns'.
