Folios 456-457: Wilson Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. Responding to the letter of 13 December and sends a report on the case of Nathaniel Beckval, on board the Adamant. He returns the enclosure, with Buckval's Protection as a Swede. Jonas Nathaniel Beckval was pressed by Lieutenant Lapslie, South Shields, on 22 October. He was detained for the Service on information that he is married and has 5 children in South Shields. Jonas Nathaniel Beckvals is about 24 years old, has been over 7 years at sea. He is an active, healthy man, well suited for service at sea.
Folios 458-459: enclosure with folios 456-457. Petition dated 9 December 1811 from J Nathaniel Beckval, HMS Adamant, to The Admiralty. He was pressed about 2 months ago by Reed, a Midshipman at Shields, and sent to HMS Adamant. Requests his discharge.
Folio 460: enclosure with folios 458-459. Protection dated 4 May 1808 issued by George Losh, Swedish Vice Consul, Newcastle upon Tyne, in the name of Jonas Nathaniel Beckval, of Osstra Skruckleby, Sweden.
