Folios 442-443: Robert Rolles, HMS Edinburgh, The Downs. Admiral Foley has appointed William Elliott, Coxswain, to act as Boatswain in HMS Apollo. Captain Rolles recommends him for a confirmation of his Warrant. He has served with him for some years and is a man of strict integrity and sobriety. He was appointed once previously but soon superceded, and lost his ranking as Petty Officer for a considerable time.
