Folios 357-358: Wilson Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. Responding to the letter of 14 November and sends a report on the case of Robert Brown. He returns the enclosure and Brown's Affidavit as Mate [not present]. Robert Brown, Able Seaman, was pressed by Lieutenant Flinn, North Shields, on 4 November and detained having been found 7 miles from his ship, then in Sunderland harbour. It is probable he left his ship and came to Shields to get another. Robert Brown over 23 years old, has been 12 years at sea, and is an stout healthy young man well suited for service.
Folios 359-360: enclosure with folios 357-358. Letter dated 11 November 1811 from Jonathon Cockerill, North Shields, to The Admiralty. Writing on behalf of William Brown, North Shields, whose signed authority is appended. Mr Brown is willing to pay a stipulated sum for the discharge of his son, Robert Brown, late Mate of the ship Friendship of London. .
