Folios 300-301: Robert Russell, HMS Cygnet, Woolwich. Encloses the duplicate Acting appointment of Mr George Starr as Purser of HMS Cygnet. Requests the appointment is confirmed. He recommends George Starr as extremely attentive to his duty. In Captain Russell's opinion, he is very deserving of promotion.
Folios 302-303: enclosure with folios 300-301. Order dated 10 March 1810, signed by Vice Admiral Sir Alexander Cochrane, Commander in Chief of ships and vessels in Barbados, the Leeward Islands, etc, Basseterre Roads, Guadeloupe, appointing George Starr, late Captain's Clerk of HMS Alfred, to act as purser of HMS Cygnet. Frederick Horton, Purser of HMS Cygnet, is promoted to be Purser of HMS Gloire in place of J M Perkins, who is invalided.
