Folios 279-280: Wilson Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. Responding to the letter of 25 October and sends a report on the case of James Bowlt, sent to The Nore on 16 October. He returns the enclosure and the Protection taken from the man when pressed. James Bowlt was pressed by Lieutenant Lapslie, South Shields, on 4 October and detained on information that he had been employed for 4 or 5 years in the keels on the Tyne, before being bound. He is 20 years old, a stout healthy young man, well suited for service.
Folios 281-282: enclosure with folios 279-280. Protection dated 22 April 1811 in the name of James Bowlt, apprenticed to Thomas Wilson from 14 February 1811.
Folio 283: enclosure with folios 279-280. Application for the Discharge of Impressed Men dated 24 October 1811, in the name of James Bowlt, Apprentice to Thomas Wilson, The Crown, Wapping Wharf.
