Folios 229-230: Wilaon Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. Responds to the letter of 11 October and sends a report on the case of William Kerwood, currently on board the Lyra tender. He returns the enclosure with the Protection [not present] taken from Kerwood when pressed. Wiiliam Kerwood, Ordinary Seaman, was pressed by Lieutenant Flinn, North Shields, on 2 October, on information of being bound a second time. The information seems to be strengthened by the circumstances of the enclosed Indenture [not present] having no mark of an Admiralty Protection being granted, though one was produced bearing the same date as the Indenture. William Kerwood is about 19 years old, has very much the appearance of having been at sea for some time, He is a stout healthy young man well suited for service.
Folio 231: enclosure with folios 229-230. Application for the discharge of Impressed Men dated 11 October 1811 and relating to William Kerwood, Apprentice. Application made by John Robson, 2 America Square, Master, with production of the Indenture.
