Folios 121-122: Thomas Flinn, on behalf of Captain Rathborne, Regulating Service, North Shields. Responding to the letter of 9 September, sends a report on the case of Robert Finmouth, on board the Lyra tender, and returns the enclosure. Robert Finmouth, Able Seaman, was pressed by Lieutenant Liddle, Sunderland, on 3 September, and detained for the Service, as he had no exemptions from pressing. He was employed as a Rigger, though he is an active seaman. He complained of being deaf, but he heard perfectly well when interviewed, and the Surgeon reported him fit for service. He is 26 years old, has been at sea for 12 years and appeared perfectly healthy and fit for service.
Folios 123-124: enclosure with folios 121-122. Letter dated 5 September 1811 from L Samuel, Sunderland, to The Admiralty. Writing on behalf of the wife of Robert Finmouth, who was recently pressed. He has not been able to go to sea for some time due to ill health. He is not able to hear, so has been working on shore as a Rigger. Requests his discharge in exchange for a sum of money, or finding a substitute in his place.
