Folios 375-376: Wilson Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. He took Lieutenant Liddle to see Jane Elviston whose husband keeps a decent Public House in Sunderland. She said that James Purdy is married to her sister and that when he was in Sunderland, Dogson and another Midshipman went to her house and said that Purdy needed £1 which she gave them. Purdy denied he had asked and he is satisfied that Dodson extorted money from Elviston.
