Folios 365-366: Wilson Rathborne, Regulating Officer, North Shields. In response to Mr Barnes' letter, he is sending details of George Nicholson now on HMS Namur. He was impressed by Lieutenant Lapstic in South Shields on 22 August 1810 from the Carron, Master John Winby as the owner was sailing as well. Winby said he was a Seaman but was only on board as he was going to buy a ship in North Shields. He was insolent and would not produce any papers.
Folios 367-368: enclosure with folios 365-366. Letter dated 29 August 1810 by [V. Morgan] 23 Water Lane. At the time George Nicholson was impressed from the Carron he was the bona fide Mate as the Owner and Master who were also aboard, are not Mates.
