Folios 239-240: Alexander Shippard, HMS Namur at the Nore. Responding to a request for a report on James Wall, late Master's Mate of HMS Alert and whether he is suitable to be sent as a Petty Officer to another ship. Confirms that he received James Wall on board from HMS Tower as a deserter from HMS Scorpion which Wall claims sailed without him. He subsequently entered the 20 Regiment of the Light Dragoons while drunk and in naval uniform and then gave himself up as a deserter. As he has been on board HMS Namur for such a short time, it is not possible to form an opinion of his conduct.
